On a previous Grasshopper mower I rigged a tank and boom that rested on the deck for weed spaying. With the tank empty it was no problem taking it on and off. Fast froward and I now have a unit with the power fold and so my old setup won't work. I've got the tank set up on the back of the mower and run a hose to the new boom mounted to the front of the deck. I would like to have some kind of quick connect for the boom hose, it is 1/2 inch ID. Any suggestions?

You shouldn't be running more than 30 psi at the most. My well pump is set at 60. A garden hose quick coupler should be all you need.

Amazon shows plenty of 1/2 inch garden hose connectors for around 8$ for a 4 pack. Should find them at a local hardware store.

For the quick coupler get a brass or stainless steel or you will be fighting rust from the get go. If you go to most parts houses that sell truck parts you can get a brass coupler. Other wise places that specialize in fertilizer and sprayer parts like Fertilized dealer supply should be able to hook you up with your problem. You could also just use a bit more hose and let it fold with the mower when you fold it. Like we do with sprayer booms. They also have check valve tips that don't leak when you shut off the spray pressure. I think they have a couple pressures on them at 10PSI and 15or 20 for the other.

I suggest you look into Banjo type couplers they are inexpensive, safe and reliable. The size of the hose determines the size of the coupler needed. Caps are available to block the opening when not in use. Many sizes available at Rural King or a sprayer on-line seller.

I agree Banjo cam lock couplers are the go to for spray uses. Any good farm store should have both ends in the size you want.

Yellow is the garden hose version.

I would be careful of the super cheap ones of hard plastic, or any metal type.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I don't know why I hadn't thought of the big A online store. I like the Banjo style units and will be checking that out.
You all have again come through with good solutions. I lurk here all the time, it's amazing some of the problems and then solutions to them.
