Spring Thaw

We've had three consecutive days above freezing and the sniow cover is almost gone. Toady is sunny and mild with a high near 60 forcast so by tomorrow everything other than the plowed up piles should be gone. The kids were enjoying the day although I would have chosen a different place to lay down ;-) The snow has been so deep and crusty even they were not venturing far and were getting cabin fever ;-) The little one on the right is the newest addition to the family - she was an Xmas present to TOOH. She barely survived the first week after chewing the corner off TOOH's new ottoman  My son brought the bigger one back from his stint at UT - great dog and we love him to death.

Hope your day is as nice as ours and you are having as much fun as the dogs are !!

PS> While I was inside typing this they decided to go hunting and the big one brought me a present.

We had a couple of days where it almost got to 40 degrees and now its back in the icebox for about a week. Good to see the dogs are out enjoying the break your getting. The items you sent came in the mail today, very nice, Thank You.

The weather has temporarily broken here as well, though the forecast is for cold weather to return this coming week.

Here, there have been several consecutive 60+ F days, and nearly all of the snow and ice has melted. Of course all of the roads are now falling apart.

Today, I took one of the smaller chain saws and made a walk around over a small portion of the perimeter. Probably should have taken one of the bigger saws.

I did not know that dogs could catch squirrels. One should learn at least something each day.

That dog has been chasing squirrels (and deer) for 6 years and AFAIK has never caught one. Based on the looks of the one he brought in it was already deader than a door nail when he "caught" it ;-) Keep looking for something to learn today ;-)

PS> Raccoons and groundhogs are another matter.....

Cute pups! Can't believe how much melt off you have. I guess this is what y'all call mud season?

Almost 70 degrees here today. Collecting and burning ice storm damage. Will be cutting grass again soon.

Hit around 50*F here today after yesterdays rain. 2 ft of ground cover is down to about 6" Spent about 3 hours trying to make a cleaner area in pasture to feed horses. I got a nice pile to relocate come warmer weather after cleaning 3 times so far this winter

Good looking dogs TOH.
What breed are they?
I had to put George my little rat terrier down in June and still miss her a lot. New bride isn't keen on pets so...
We had 3 days of thaw here last week. First time in 6 weeks. Then got hammered by heavy ice and 10" of snow and big winds/drifts on Friday.
We're still digging out.
Now the temps are going into the tank again for the forseeable future.
Been a tough winter this year.
10 day forecast

Enjoy the warmth Dan. By Tuesday it is forecasted
to snow again and by late week to have an overnight
low of 13 degrees. All the wet spots on the roads
will freeze to black ice and the mud will freeze to
frozen ruts. Winter is not over yet it is just
giving us a break so we will feel the cold more
when it hits again. I am going to find that
groundhog and kill that sucker.

TOOH keeps telling me the same thing but I'm still polishing my golf clubs. IIRC by this time last year they had actually been used....
