Been working hay ground and then got started planting last years summer fallow ground,, been over at least 400 acres so far another 600 to get over the first time,, was shut down yesterday as we got a little much needed H20 but am heading back today

What kind of field cultivator are you using in the first pic?, looks kind of like the older Glencoe we have but the spring set-up is different.

It is a Glenco built unit Rod, Ford speced different shanks,, mine has two different shank/spring styles,, looks like at some point a previous owner had widened it and added some newer style units,, they had thought it was a chisel plow I guess as they had torn this machine up from every angle by abusing the snot out of it,, it works good now thankfully,,

Yes, that is true at the moment, a couple reasons, our winter left so fast and my time window on getting these first planting in and the hay ground harrowed I just grabbed this 970 as it was ready to go, I have a 1470 in front of the shop that I need to go over my spring service list on yet before moving it to the north fields, my 1070 which I normally have out helping at this time is still hooked to the hydro-swing from last year, so I decided it was faster to just swap implements around for this first run,, Then add in my wife having major heart problems for the last 6 months I have been taking care of things around the house,, Thankfully they have got her problem diagnosed and her on a new med that has turned that around,we almost lost her a few times as she was going into a very deathly heart rhythm and I had not been able to get any of my normal winter servicing done as I was not able to leave her alone. Things are getting back to a more normal rate now,, she had to spend a week in the hospital after them trying to give her a stress test, she about collapsed and would have had the tech not grabbed her and got her on a table in the doctors office, they had to call a ambulance for her,, they did a cath test to look for blockage which thankfully she did not have any of,, the issue was again electrical, she has been fighting a-fib for over 12 years now,, this was a whole new development/condition brought on in a large part from CO2 saturation from work forcing her to wear a mask, I always say thing happen for a reason though and she is feeling better than she has since Last May when this started which was the same time as home depot was forced to make employees wear them,, I have to add this condition would probably have showed up sooner or later with or without the mask,, it just accelerated it by a huge factor, and will leave it at that

Never been a church goer John,, not that I do not have Faith,, just that I talk with the big Guy upstairs directly and do not feel the need to go through another. I have plenty of rocks I just do not stop and take pics of them I guess, I could show you the thousands of tons of them piled around fence lines the last 100 years on this farm though lol,, we do not have round rocks but have what i call shelf rocks,, most all are flat rocks, from small to as big as a tractor sized ones,, I sure DO NOT use a cultipacker, I need my ground as loose as it can be other than in the planted furrow so when we get moisture it can soak in, there are some around here though,, I am hoping this year will be a better wetter year than last year,, to early to tell right now, but last year I raised hay and grain on less than three inches of h20 from September 2019 through July 2020 heck most of you guys get that much in one rain, whole different thing here when we have our drought years,, I will still take my dryer climate though over what i call the rust belt areas that seldom ever deal with low H20

Tom, glad to hear you had some H2O, Thank you for the pictures always like to see the Case equipment at work. I am plowing with the 770 and the A series plow . As I told you about the ditch cleaning and the mess I have. The 770 had to work hard and would spin out ,but one field done and on to the next. Stay safe my friend. Jerry from Ohio
