Has anyone used or has any knowledge of traveling sprinklers such as these?

I"ve got a Micro Rain that"s a little bigger. It seems like it will water about an acre per pull. I"ve used it to establish 20 acres of perennial peanut (10 one year, 10 the next) They are pretty impressive for what they will do on a 4" well. A little time consuming to move around, I used an atv. On problem I had was the knife that rides in the winding scroll got stuck and it tore the sprocket that drives it off. Keep the knife and the scroll clean, it was a costly repair.

I have been looking at the microrain mr25.other than the knife problem, does yours retract,stop etc. ok? I am going to water 3 acres of sweet corn. would like to add a riser pipe to the cart to get the sprinkler up higher. do you think that would be feasable? how long have you had your? thanks for any input on the subject. I also looked at the rapidrain and the realgreen.

I think the knife problem was really due to lack of maintenance on my part. I always kept it greased, but the factory said you should replace the knife once a year, due to wear.
It seems to me that it throws water at a pretty high angle. On the gun cart is the shutoff valve, so when it hits the reel it cuts off. All of that has worked 95% of the time. It did malfunction once or twice and leave a really wet circle while I was at work. I think the riser would work, but the gun cart has a narrow wheelbase, I guess the higher you go, there would be a chance of it blowing the cart over? I really have no more use for it, if interested, shoot me an email. I think mine"s the 42" reel

what mod. # is yours? I also have a 4 inch well. only have like 7-10 gpm. the mr25 seems like the biggest I could go. glad to hear from you. suprised that I could not find much feedback online about these sprinklers.
