Spun starter drive in

I ordered a new starter for my 8n with drive included. I spun the drive in by hand and now can't get it back out. Any advice on what to do. Can I install it that way and will it be okay

The drive un-spins/retracts when the engine starts, so yes, you can
install it that way. It is a bit more difficult to install, but it will work
fine as long as your battery is good enough to start the engine.

Some have said you can spin the drive fast enough to retract it by
holding it up against a wire wheel. I've not been so lucky.
