Stalling when warmed up

My 1983 gmc plow truck with 81 305 and qjet 4 barrel with manual choke recently has been stalling once engine up to temperature. Revs out fine and lots of power in 4 low like it always has had. I rebuilt carb few years back. I turned up idle screw and no help. I read it could be coil failing when warmed up. After it stalks it starts right back up so possibly not coil. Im thinking coil yet more possibly vacuum leak when engine up to temp. Any ideas? Hope to fix it this weekend.

More information needed. As in, you start up the truck and let it idle until warm and then it quits, or when warm you put it in gear and it dies, or?

Poor fuel flow? Loose wire?

It will stall if left idling in Neutral or stall when I put it in gear. I have to be quick on the fuel throttle so it doesnt stall when switching into D or R. It has good fuel and I will check for loose wire, ohm resistance in spark plug wires and condition of cap/rotor. I put new plugs in it couple months ago and a good used caprotor. I was told to increase choke when idling and see if it picks up - possibly idle jets need replacement.

That sounds like a problem I had several years ago. Turned out to be obstruction in the fuel system. Debris in tank would float over the outlet restricting (not plugging) causing fuel starvation. Then float away when motor died so fuel flow was back to normal until object floated back over outlet. I did everything , plugs, points, rotor etc with no change. Finally hooked up auxiliary fuel supply and problem went away. Finally found a piece of wooden shingle floating in the tank.

Just a thought.

Hey any suggestions good! I hope to figure it out this week. Ill keep you posted what I discover.
