Anyone have, or know where to find, a good used Stanadyne Roosa Master Fuel Injection pump for a 1974 John Deere 510 backhoe? Has the 4270DR engine. Injection pump part # AR-50144. Just rebuilt the engine. Getting good fuel flow to the injection pump ... but nothing out of it.

Appreciate any / all help. Thanks!

You might consider sending your pump to Dieseltech for repair, then you will know what you have. I suggest you direct message him to discuss this.

Are you bleeding the high-pressure lines at the injector ends, while cranking the engine with the fuel on? Does the fuel shut off solenoid have power when cranking?

The machine has been sitting unused for at least the past 3-4 years. It didn't seem to have any diesel left in it though, so not sure if diesel geling is/was an issue. Lift pump is new and providing good pressure to the injection pump. 12V key power to shut off solenoid, but I don't hear it click when I turn key on. Disconnected injector line at the injection pump. Getting no fuel from injection pump while cranking.

I did check the cost of rebuild and was told it could be upward of $2,000. Can't really afford that right now.

Communicate with Dieseltech and see what he has to say, you might be surprised. I have heard his prices are much more reasonable, in general. What is damaged can affect any estimate.

Gelling is a cold weather problem, I doubt it is your issue. I expect it has gummed up and stuck internal parts together from setting.

I agree contact dieseltech. He has rebuilt 4 for me and probably 4 friends I referred. As long as the shaft isn't broken the cost is very reasonable.
The last one I had rebuilt was closer to half that for the 500b the plan if there was a used one acquired would be to go through it anyway…just better off going through the one you have.
you probably have electric shutoff solenoid on the back and finding that particular thing used and functioning will be a long shot

Take 1 step at a time, Grasshopper. There is no reason to jump right into having the pump rebuilt until you verify the solenoid and metering valve are functioning properly.

Setting unused for more than a year I doubt pump will work due to sticking internal parts from the stale fuel. Hopefully it's the JDB pump with the two screw timing cover on the side, and NOT that oddball CB pump. I just went through a 4020 pump for the same trouble.

Im pretty good with gas engines. Minimal experience with diesel. Had my father in law stop by and assist. Turned fuel shutoff screw all the way in to override shutoff solenoid. Bled fuel system from tank to infection pump. Can't get fuel out of pump bleed screw. He concurs pump not pumping. Pump does have 2 screw timing cover on side. Removed it while he cranked engine .. and shaft is clearly spinning. How would I go about contacting you DieselTech for process to get it to you and get rebuild quote? Im in central Utah.
