Stanhoist loader d17

Bought stanhoist loader from scrapper previous owner mount it 9 inches back from already drilled holes in d17 and drilled new holes making it hard to get on and off is there a reason to mount it that far back

That is the type of question that very likely the guy who drilled the holes would have to answer. Perhaps it was mounted on something other than a D17 at some point in its life.

Make it shorter to get the door shut on the building or take some weight off of front axle.

Got a picture? Is the loader too big for the tractor?

Not installed laying in snow drift says it is model b31_58 if that helps ,read it was for d17

Make it shorter to get the door shut on the building or take some weight off of front axle.

Having the loader coupled close to the tractor has several advantages. It will be much easier to maneuver in tight spaces. It also transfers less weight off the back tires resulting in less ballast needed on the back for traction and stability.

Thanks i may use oringinal holes on d17 first not looking forward to drill new ones just couldnt understand why appreciate answers from every body newbie to loaders
