I own a 1954 TD9. I have been having trouble with the carburetor running to rich during startup. I saw something The King OF Obselete had posted, saying not to try to adjust the float as it would break. I just got finished sandblasting and painting over the intake manifold and carburetor as it had not been worked on since I restored the crawler about seven years ago. I can start her up with no trouble, but while in gas mode. it puts out dark black smoke as if it is getting to much gas, but if you cut back on the choke it will shut down. I dont remember it running that rich ,when I finished the crawler. Any comments will be appreceiated. Thanks Eddie
