starter button thread size and count?

Greetings everyone. Quick question for each and everyone.
I need to locate some nuts that will thread onto my replacement starter "PUSH" buttons that go on the dash. They came with a decent "finish" nut to go on the driver side--however--they only have this really CRAPPY tin nut that is used to tighten from the back side. So far, both that I have installed, keep working loose.
I want to take the cheap inside one off and replace with an actual Hexigon Nut that I can put a dab of loc-tite on and tighten down from both sides.
I believe it is 5/8 diameter, but much too fine for hardware store "fine thread".
I went to automotive store and they only had entire push button sets to sell me.
Any suggestions for purchasing JUST A NUT OR TWO?
Ha Ha, that wasn't supposed to be that funny.

try home depot, lowes, etc, find the lock nuts that have the plastic lock built in them. [don't know exact name for them] that way if needing to take off for any reason, they wouldn't be welded with loc-tite

good idea.
I was going to use the "mild" version of loc tite that CAN be backed off.
I learned the hard way with the permanant grade of loc tite.
Thanks.

good idea, but the ONE that comes with it for the inside is just thin flat metal, stamped in the shape of a hexigon with only two corners turned up to engage the threads. Likes they use on plasic studs to thread on one time and be done. there is hardly enough metal to put the locktite on. they are CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brand name is Ny-Loc (not sure about spelling).
It's a normal hex nut with a nylon insert, available at any hardware store. Note: cannot resist heat.
