Starter rebuild?

Currently my starter will not spin. I have continuity through the starter cable, but no continuity from the cable to the starter connection. Strange?

How are you measuring continuity from the cable to the starter connection? Through the Solenoid? It should be zero continuity until you hit the START button.

Using a multi-meter, it beeps when there is continuity. I have continuity at A, but not at B. With the multi-meter, battery does not need to be on.

on mine I hit the starter and the solenoid shifts but the juce dont go to the starter,,,do you boys think the contacts in the solenoid are bad or what,,,,,,,you put your hand on the solenoid and you can feel it shift (it does more than just click) what to do?

Acid corrossion can work its way down a short cable.Dont depend on the beep from a meter.Your prod isnt making contact with the starter stud.Put the tractor in neutral and apply voltage to the starter stud and a clean ground point. You can find poor connections if you know how to measure voltage drop with a meter.

Clean and shiny, metal-to-metal for all connections. Figure out why you don't have continuity and test starter on the tractor before rebuilding it.
