Starter stuck in engaged position?

Any help on getting starter to release from engaged position. Had to unhook battery cable to stop the hum but when touch post it hums"IM STUCK". Tried removing starter but hung up. Any ideas?

Well unless you tell us what the tractor is we can only guess and then that may not help you much if any

I'd guess he's got an 841 from his user name.

If it is an 841, then you need to check the wire from your interlocked starter button to mage sure that it isn't shorted...

Also.. try rocking the tractor in high gear to get the starter drive to pop loose.

if you don't have an 841.. then it would help greatly to know what you do have.. as Old said..
