Starter will not turn the flywheel

Starter Solenoid went out back in April of 2010. I kept trying to fix it with new Solenoids but that did not work. At that time I was able to move the fly wheel. It was very tuff to move it but it moved. The starter went out also during that time. I purchased a new starter and it seems to turn when it wants but the fly wheel does not move. The solenoid does click. I also have power on all ends. I tried to move the fly wheel using a screw driver and a crow bar no such luck. I also tried to crank it from the front with my starting crank it does not budge. So I poured kerosene down the spark plug holes. It’s been a week and still no movement. I’m going to try WD-40 or PB blast down it. This might sound silly but the tractor doesn’t have a timing chain that could have bound up does it? The engine was about 1 year brand new when the starter went out. Does anybody have a suggestions or procedures on how to properly free a 2cyl engine? Or a suggestion on a good book to purchase.

Thanks,
Johnathon

Maybe the starter was not the problem..??

Could the engine have been "Stuck" all along..??

You could put it in High Gear and rock the tractor back and forth..does the engine move in either direction..?
Is the tractor setting outside..?
How long since it was run last..?

You "Tried to crank it with the crank, from the FRONT"..????

What kind of 2-Cylinder are you working on...!!!

Maybe a 40..or an "L"..??

It's a 40. It has a hand crank slot in the front. It has not ran in a year. It sat inside a barn that leaks. So water could definely be a factor.

Be PATIENT...!!!!!!!!

Let time work for you..let the parts soak maybe for a couple more weeks..
DO NOT force it..
Maybe put it in High gear and occasionally rock the tractor back and forth a little..
May not be a bad idea (since it is a 40) to pull the head and hone the cylinders, especially once you get it to move..
Not as much work as a horizontal 2-cylinder..

May be an obvious question...but have you removed the spark plugs when trying to turn it over?
