Went to start my 2N this morning and heard some clanging noise. After about 3 times of this the noise went away and now the starter just spins.

What in the world happened?
 
Prolly the bendix spring on the drive is broken , or the drive gear its self is broken . Pull the starter and take a look. There is an improved style of drive , someone will jump in and explain that for you, I'm mostly Case and Oliver oriented......
