Starting a tractor with a reverser

We have a 430 with a direction reverser.
If the battery is dead, can we start it by pulling it without hurting the reverser?
Also is there any restrictions for towing it?

Why not just repair the tractor instead of towing .
Anyways , many of the W Row Crop Utilities have the front axles smashed via morons using tow chains .

No pull starting as FWD and REV clutch require oil pressure to engage and there is no oil pressure when engine is not running. DW

You can pull start. There is a clutch pack that is operated manually, when you push or pull the operating lever. No harm will be done.

As deeretails posted. The 430 used a mechanical wet clutch reverser, not a hydraulicly operated clutch reverser so it can be pull started. I don't know of any towing restrictions as long as the oils are at proper levels.

I would fix it so it starts, rather than making a practice of pull starting it.
