Starving for gas

Oliver 1650 gas. Ran terrible last summer and I ran out of time to mess with it. Would always quit running. Let it sit for 10 minutes and it would run for a short period. I figured it was a fuel delivery issue. Today I checked gas flow. It was excellent to the carb. Would fill the plastic soda bottle in 20 seconds. Pulled drain plug on the carb and it took 7 minutes to fill the bottle. Bottle was 20oz and I cut it down. Guessing it was roughly a pint. Very slow trickle. Took the brass fitting off the carb and it was clean. No screen in the fitting. Did the test several times and was nearly identical each time. Tapped on the carb lightly which changed nothing. I’m thinking a possible piece of crud in the needle/seat. Possible issue with float adjustment or rubbing. Anything else I should look at ? Should have stated marvel schebler tsx carb. I did the same test in my 300 Farmall. Filled the same container in about 1 minute. Pic shows the amount the carb drained in 7 minutes. Does not include what was originally in the carb. Just what flowed through in the 7 minutes.

Even though that's not a lot of gasoline it's probably more than the engine would burn in 7 minutes without being revved up/working.

It wouldn't hurt to connect up an in-line spark tester and verify that it isn't losing spark when it begins to die before tearing deeply into the fuel system.

If the spark remains steady as it coasts to a stop you'll know for SURE it's a fuel issue.

It will idle, but at anything more even with light chores such as hay raking it acts up. It does have petronix ignition with correct wires and coil. Plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor are new. Still not a bad idea to do as you have suggested to at least rule it out.

The flow out of the carburetor drain is only around one gallon per hour, not nearly enough to feed a 66 HP tractor under a load.
