Steering Bearing Cup

Anyone know the best way to remove the lower bearing seat or cup on an late model 8N steering housing. I've used all my hand skills to no avail.

Clean it up and if it feels good leave it there. if it feels bad remove plug in bottom of housing under the cup and tap it out with a punch.

ditto what RG said.

At least a couple users have reported a steering box with no core plug in the bottom.. but I believe they may have been later series.

if yours is.. report back.. you'll be cutting it out

Got it out. Friend said use electric welder and spot about three times, same as removing valve seat, and came out ok. Thanks.
