steering box on my 8n tractor

OK, on the steering box on my 8n ,I rebuilt the
whole thing putting the gears back,,, In the front
"square gear" is lined up center of the hole
mentioned, The middle gear set on center, Where does
the back or "half gear",,,, set on center ?
I dont have a manual ,,, THANKS

There are two different gear boxes used on 8n's. You REALLY need the FO-4 service manual for jobs like this. It gives the procedure for each type.

as said.. fo-4 has step by step instructions on timing the steering gears.. unless you've done a few boxes and just know where to put them.. use the counting method the book gives you..

you own a couple thousand worth of iron.. you should own a couple dozen worth of paper.

it's not that nobody wants to 'share' with you. it's that the manual has the step by step directions.. and it takes a couple pages with the diagrams.

sorry.. I'm not typing that all in

but since you want to get huffy about it.. i've recorded your name and IP and won't bother reading any further messages from t he same.

good luck.

My thoughts also! a few sentences is one thing but several pages is another, plus the fact there are two different boxes on the 8n's.
