steering cylinder???

I now have all the ball joints tight and the front axle pin bushings in my 245, I have noticed there is still play in the steering and when driving in the field that the tires move the steering cylinder in and out. Would this be a weak point in the steering cylinder or in the steering box??

if the cylinder rod is being pulled in and out the cylinder piston o-ring is worn out letting oil leak from one side of the piston to the other

yes if pump pressure and volume are good because a lot of the fluid is by-passing the piston if the ring is damaged or worn out
