Steering damper

While checking out a Ford 4000 I noticed what appears to be a damper connected to the steering drag link. This seems to be a good idea that would easily adapt to an N tractor. Anybody seen that done or would it only help with power steering?

That is the power steering cylinder. There is one on each side. If you ever get a tractor with PS you will weep if you have to go back to a non PS machine.

Duh... Now I can see a hydraulic line entering the cylinder.

I'm probably better off not knowing about nicer tractors than my 8N.

if you ever get a 55+ machine you will take the battery out of your N, drain the gas, and put it up on blocks with a tarp over it. that's what I did to my 8n and 2n..
