Has any of you guys or gals ever replaced one of these steering sector pin's on the power steering lever shaft of any of the IH utility's? If so any insight as to how to get the old one out. I cut the backside of the pin and ground off some of the lever shaft to knock out the old pin but it looks like it is solid all the way thru. Some sites have these replacements for sale part #IHS1922 it says you have to weld in the new one in, but I've got to get the old one out first. Any help would be appreciated.

Centering a punch mark on the side that is now a ground surface. Difficult to do accurately, I recommend putting a marker dot on it then look at it from every direction to be sure it is as centered as you can. Then center punch the dot. drill (Cutting oil needed!! usually a Tungsten bit, or titanium coated) a 1.8" hole well into the stud side. Enlarge the hole to 3/16 then 1/4. At some point it is likely to find the edge of the stud hole. If you drill until the drill shows up where the stud comes out, you can punch the remainder out! Jim

I just bought one of these sector pins. It's one of the parts I needed to get my 350U power steering working.
I my old pin is loose in the hole and rotates a bit. I was going to post and ask whether that pin should rotate 360 degrees. The supplier states that the new pin be welded. I am following your post to get some insight.
