I am removing my power steering on my Super M. I already have another shaft coming with the worm gear on it, with the bearing support and bracket. Is there anything special to know? I have never taken that stuff apart before.
Not the best picture but here is the tractor with the char-lynn unit that Im taking off:

on the lower shaft that has the worm gear on it, it is held to the coupler with a roll pin. set some blocks of wood on the valve cover and go up enough to block under the shaft by the coupler. then use a roll pin punch and drive the pin out. the shaft will then unscrew out the front of the bolster. (take the pipe cap off the bolster. there is a seal and bushing in the upper part of the bolster the shaft rides on. for the shaft the steering whhel is on, looses the set screws on both retainers up at the operator station, then take the bolt out of the knuckle and the shaft will slide toward the back of the tractor.

You might want to refill the the sector housing with corn head grease, it better than grease gun grease. JD, IHC, or Farm Oly has some in a squirt bottle, that's recapable.
