steering wheel puller

what kind of puller do i use to remove steering wheels any help thanks

I have one that looks kinde like a harmonic balncer puller, just go to any auto parts store and ask for a steering wheel puller, about $20.00 is what i paid for mine at napa. Good luck

A good puller would be the correct and recommended way but so far I have had good luck with a soft face hammer. Mine is a homemade hammer with aluminum head and stainless handle.

I have several small 3 jaw (use them verus a 2 jaw) pullers around, most of which will work, just peen a good dead center hole in the shaft end so the puller can get a good symmetrical bite. Ive also heated the wheel hub with a torch n then used a tie rod remover tool (tuning fork) with hammer blows which always gets them off.

I have had good luck by backing off the nut a few turns, then placing a large sledge hammer in contact with the nut, and then poping the back of the steering wheel hub a few times with a brass hammer.
