steering wheel removal

Nobody? I just use a punch on the air chisel and stick it up underneath and vibrate them off, but if you don't have one, I can't say.

I just looked at the ones on my 77s. I think Id be able to slip my bearing puller behind it.

What follows would not apply if you are going to reuse the steering wheel. When I changed the one on my older one, all the plastic around the center had broken away years ago, the cap was gone and the nut looked like it was rusted tight to the hub such that I didnt think any Liquid Wrench I sprayed on but was going to seep down from that direction. I thought I was going to have a devil of a time getting it off. I had the steering wheel and shaft pulled out of the control panel in the vice and heated it up Not only did the nut turn off easily but the steering wheel popped off with a few taps of the hammer.

When i use a Posi lock puller, i always drill a pilot hole in the end of the shaft,to keep it centered, or else it likes to walk!
