steering wheel

any body seen a steering wheel like this. says Kosch Manufacturing Co Columbia Ne. on it. I can pull the steering wheel of but not sure how to get the adaptor off. I'm assuming it comes off and is not part of the steering shaft. any help with hoe it comes off would be appreciated

Some company made a NO Shock steering wheel. Had some kind of damper in it. Wonder if thats not what it is.

I don't know but my IH steering wheel is in similar shape. If someone knows how to repair the black stuff around the wheel, then I would like to know. Mine has a few cracked and broken spots like that one. Maybe some bondo or fiberglass with matting or some kind of epoxy?

To get that adapter off, it's just a spline fitting. I would pour your favorite penetrating mixture down it and let soak for awhile (hours, days) and then try prying, or hammering it off. Heat, and cool too. It doesn't look like putting the steering wheel back on a using a puller would work.
