Steps for a 3010

August of 25' my youngest son and my dad went on a tractor drive, son on my 4020, dad on my 3010. After they got back to our place and my dad left, my son said, "Dad, you have to something for a step for Grandpa." So, this weekend I finally had some time to get after it. I do not like the look or the price of the newer step kit that a lot of places sell for the new generation and sound guard tractors. I decided to get a couple of 3010-4020 steps to make it look more era correct. Not finished, but I did get it bolted up. Tried it, should work, but I want to brace beneath it. My dad is 84 and has had both hips replaced.

Personally speaking, If my Dad was 84 and still driving tractors I would put the "Do not like the look or the price of the newer step kit" out of my mind. The kit steps are much wider and the handrail is a huge plus. Give your Father a proper set of steps with a robust hand rail. After he can no longer drive the tractor you can take them off if you wish. Looks and cost should be a non issue when it comes to a loved ones safety. IMO. YMMV.

Bought this set from John Deere. Very solid and easy to get on the tractor. The bottom step is optional with the kit. Not real cheap, but less than hospital bills not to mention the pain and misery that goes with it.
