I've got a Stihl 024 chainsaw that starts and runs fine, but dies when you cut sidways. Has anybody had this problem and how to fix it?

Start your saw and let it idle sitting upright on the ground for a minute or so. Then pick it up while still running (don't throttle up) and turn it on it's side or upside down. If it stalls it usally means the carb is set too rich and fuel is building up in the crankcase. Adjust carb to correct problem. Also check the Filter (other wise know as a "Klunk") it's on the end of the fuel line in the tank, it may be stuck in the corner of the tank not alowing it to move around as it should. I've been a master logger for 10 yrs and these are the most common fixs for your issue.

i just bought a new Stihl bout 6 mths ago had that problem when i first used it The clunk does not move around freely and the problem is worse as the fuel level gets lower.al
