stihl 4-mix?

Does anyone have a stihl 4 mix chainsaw? Opinions, good, bad, ugly, easy of starting?

Are there other brands of 4 cycle chainsaws?

I don?t think there is a Stihl chainsaw that is 4 mix. Have many kombi head power units KM130R that are 4 mix and like them a lot.

I have the 4-Mix engine on my brushcutter. I've had it ~3 years now. It has been great so far. Easy to start. I just used it this past weekend. First time I have run it since sometime last fall and it started on the second pull.

Don't recall seeing them on their saws though. Is there a model you are looking at?

You may be right. I googled 4 cycle chainsaw and what I posted came up. It showed a chainsaw. No mention of chainsaw.

So does anyone make a 4 cycle chainsaw???

have and use (for a number of years) a Stihl 4-mix pole chain saw. Starts easy, powerful, runs well & quiet. Just a little heavier than a 2 stroke.

I too have a Stihl 4 cycle pole saw.

Great machine and best starting small engine that I've ever owned.

Don't know of any 4 cycle chainsaws.

No such thing as far as a chainsaws according to my Stihl catalogue, and I hope it never comes to that! But my Stihl saws should last the rest of my life!, however when four mix first came out in around 2003 give or take the Stihl dealer I worked had a few back pack blowers that had the crankshafts break, never heard any other major problems with them, I have 1 Stihl br 400 and 2 br 420 magnum 2 cycle back pack blowers, I think they work better than the four mix ones as for as blowing power.

I do not have a 4-mix saw but I do have a 4-mix string trimmer. Super easy to start. Only drawback is that it seems to wind up slower than a 2-stroke but once I got used to that, I love it. I do swap out the string head for a brush blade often and the torque advantage is nice.

I have a fs90 for-mix and you don't need to wind it up like a 2 cycle engine to get the job done.
