Stock trailer

It is time for new tires on the stock trailer. It is a 16 foot bumper pull. Seems like they always put bias ply on these things. If the price is the same is there any reason to go radial? I don't pull it far - the sale barn and butcher are about 15 miles away and only do that a few times a year.

I haven't priced tires yet so that may answer the question anyway.

My 16 ft tandem gooseneck has radials. I'm guessing I must put at least 2000 miles a year on it,then some.

Radials are the only way to go any more. Pull easier, and last better then the old bias ply. If you are going to be hauling a lot, don't get the Hi-run 14 ply!! THEY ARE JUNK!!!

I went with the bias 7:00 X 15 just like it came with. It is a 80 model. I bought it new, and have just put two sets of tires on it in 32 years. I put the last set on in 04 they are still like new. A nylon tire will last a long time if you park i t out of the sun. probably don"t pull it over 2000 miles a year.

Radial's don't do time as good as bias ply tires. I mean to say a radial tire will last a max of 8 years. A bias ply tire I don't know how long they will last as I have seen 20+ year old ones. Radials will last more miles less flats and pull easier. I vote for bias myself for a trailer because I don't put many miles on mine anymore. I have had radials blow out just setting but were around 8 years of age.
