I'm tired at looking into the gaping tractormeter hole on my Massey TO35, the meter was long gone by the time I acquired the tractor, it has 1 wire alt', electronic ignition, and oil press' coolant temp, voltmeter, I installed one of those cheap digital lcd "tach" but would like to fill that hole, not looking to restore all the hardware it takes to restore the original. Does anyone have suggestions maybe about a conventional unit that would work as a tach, or convert one of the Indian made tractormeters to work ? All replies and suggestions greatly appreciated !

Try electric supply store. They make several different styles of push in and bolt in coverings for electrical boxes

About 10 years ago I got an electronic tach from Summit Racing that fit the hole in my MF 50. 0 - 300 RPM. Works fine.

On my MF202 which is the utility version of the MF35, when I bought it the meter never did work. It's just sitting in the hole. I can go out and literally just lift it out of the hole. It really doesn't bother me much at all for the 8 years I've been using the tractor. So, I guess in my case it is strictly cosmetic.

Not sure what size the hole is on yours but have one off these on my 560 Cockshutt that also has a 1 wire alternator with a terminal on it for the tachometer. Works good.

The spec on the diameter is 3 3/8th" which is just about the size of the tractormeter diameter, and it's in the rpm range needed for lower rpm work, this just may be the ticket without spending a lot of $$$, thanks JL Mac
