String trimmer.

I was trimming the lawn yesterday with my 40V Ryobi, when it ran out of string. I had a new unopened Husqvarna brand string pack, so I loaded it in, and went back to work. I soon noticed that the new string was not wearing down. I leaned into some concrete a little more than usual and still no wear. I also cut some bittersweet vine, which I would never had attempted with the old string, and when I finished I could still not see any wear. I am impressed.

I bought a big spool of square nylon line; wasted the money. It binds on itself when the radial forces pull on it and will not unwind quite often when it needs more line fed out. The name brands seem to work the best and last the longest.
I bought this optional Ryobi trimmer head and it's much better than even the OEM head. I can use up all that square line with it too, since each side take 12" of line.
