This is going to sound really stupid, but I'm kind of in a weird spot right now.
My 3000 needs a lot of parts to be any sort of decent, it's kind a piece of crap. I found a parts tractor that's in pretty decent shape, but I have no way to haul it (also the parts tractor has a blown up engine). That's not saying that I lack a trailer, the issue is that my truck physically can't haul it complete so I would need to strip off about 1000 lbs of weight to get it to a point where the truck isn't sitting on the bump stops. Truck hauled my diesel home but it was a rough drive, and the parts tractor is even further away.
What all could I easily strip off to haul it home easier? I know I can do sheet metal and tires easily, but could I in theory split the transmission from the diff housing and haul it home in two separate trips?
