Stuck bushing

Bushing stuck in the starter end plate (Brushes end). Anyone got any ideas as to getting it out? Do I need special tools?

If you have a tap that will go in it,tap some threads in it and screw a bolt in it and it will force it out.

Fill it with grease, start the starter aramature into it, and hit the end with a soft mallet.

I just found a bolt that the threads just barely ate into the soft bushing and screwed it in a few turns. Pulled it right out.

Like Dunk says U can put some grease into it and use a snug fitting dowel either wood or steel and tap it down with a mallet. the grease acts hydraulically to push the bushing up and out...slick as a wistle
