Stuck leveling crank

Hello All,

I've got a Ford 600 that I want to adjust the box blade level on but the leveling crank is stuck, actually the yoke is probably rusted tight in the housing. Any magic tricks for unfreezing a locked up leveling crank? I have greased the crank handle but the problem seems more in the yoke/housing area.

Probably nothing short of lots of heat from a torch will loosen it up. Replacement parts are readily available if you can't un-stick it.

As Rusty says and or drop it in a bucket of oil etc and leave it there a week or 2

I have freed a couple with lots of oil poured in at the top and left to soak in. It takes a while.

My sisters 801 Ford had the same problem when she got it, I removed the zerk fittings and sprayed PB blaster into the holes and around all the openings where the parts fit together. Then sprayed a couple more times over a 3 hour period and it freed up and worked, cleaned and replaced the zerks, greased and good as new.
Hope yours is as easy to fix.

Thanks for the input folks. I think I'll try heating it up tonight then if I have no luck I'll take it apart and soak it in an oil bucket for a week or so.

Check too if the shaft is bent, I hit the top limit from an implement on the back pushing up and bent the shaft on one.

Really no need to go a week. A bit of heat and a few drops of oil down the threads as it COOLS is the key. I've never had to try it but, I've read that Bee's wax follows the cooling real well too. So far, I've never found one that was stuck too bad to loosen unless there was something else wrong. (I discovered some clever 'plug welding' under paint once).
