Studebaker Truck stalling

We have several Studebaker trucks at the ranch. Im told this is an AA model. We were planning on taking it to a parade Sunday, but it stalls when braking hard or braking hard going downhill.

My coworker theorizes a carburation issue; that there is a problem with the floats. Its all original.

Is he on the right path? What might be other causes?

Thanks.

An ignition wire could be broken causing a disconnect internally when braking. Usually fuel issues happen 30 seconds or more after braking/hill happens. if it delays then it coud be fuel. Either tank obstruction, or float. Make sure the carb is not loose on the manifold. Jim

Assuming this is a Duce and A Quarter army truck they did have vacuum assist brakes. S a sevier booster leak can be detected while not moving! Jim
