Stupid question

Hi Everyone I am a newbie to tractor owning and this site and I am sure this is going to be a real easy one for you experienced owners. I have a Yanmar F22 and am confused about the oil filler caps. There is one on the rocker cover at the top of the engine ( how you are supposed to get oil in there I dont know) which, I assume, is the engine oil filler cap but there is another one at the front on the right hand side. Both caps are yellow marked "oil" and the same in Japanese I guess. Can you tell me what this one is for, how much and what type of oil it takes and if there is a dip stick to measure the level. When I take the cap off all I can see is a large gear.

There are two fill caps because that engine is designed to be used in different applications where it may be difficult to access the cap. both go to the same place.
