styled d jdeere clutch timing

took clutch & pully apart to replace clutch facings, after repairs
starting to reassemble noticed no line up marks on end of crankshaft & disk drive. will any splines work together??
did not check before disassemble. assumed (i know) it would
be like the A & B tractors.

If no dowel-pin in crankshaft or deep groove in driving disk; then driving disk can
go on any spline on crankshaft....

If it's on wrong you'll know as soon as you start it. FIL had someone word on his A clutch and it shook like crazy after. I was new to them
back then and pulled the clutch out a bit to tighten the bolts on the dust plate. I noticed the V mark and stamped number on the shaft and
disk. Didn't shake after that. I later found the number on the flywheel end too so I got the impression the flywheel, crank and clutch disk
were balanced as a unit.

The heavy side of the driving disc is opposite the heavy side of the flywheel. It is balanced so it doesn't shake. Ron MN
