Styled JD G with flathead

Does anyone know exactly how much the compression ratio changes or how much the cranking pressure changes by only changing the head to a flathead and doing nothing else to the engine? Thanks

I could be wrong here but I've been told it's in the neighborhood of 8:1 leaving the cast pistons in. If you add the aluminum pistons with the flat head you are up to about 11:1 and will have to use race fuel.

Reinforce the head BEFORE you put the flat head on or you will get tired of changing head gaskets.
