I am wanting to build a strictly puller. I would like to know how to get the most out of it I can? Any parts anyone might have.

murphysmotorservice.com and get everything he recommends for the most A you can get without sending the tractor to Ray at Extremetractorparts.com . you pick jmho.

Do you already have a chassis? If not use an early (41-early '47) styled tractor to start with. Some of those will have a cast frame instead of the lighter welded angle iron. They're lighter than the late A's, and if you build a decent engine you will NOT need (or want) the creeper gear. The early one's will go into the 4500# class easily, later ones take more work to get there. For an early A you want a 6-1 powerblock or a Murphy's 6.5" block if your budget allows. Go with a 9" crank with a 3" crankpin (better reliability than a 2.75" pin). For a head get a Heisler or Murphys (I have a Heisler for sale). I use Murphy's cams, but I've heard Denglers and Berry's are good also. The carb will need to be ported to support the 530+ cubes that you end up with. Use a Murphy's manifold and roller rockers. This should keep you busy for a little while. Mike
