Sorry about getting that thread locked out with that word. I don't envy the moderator's task and you are doing a good job. Having said that it can be difficult for us in the forum to always know where the line is and I didn't mean to be critical. My point is no two people would draw the line at the same point. The political issue isn't always black and white. Many subjects are not political in and of themselves but can turn that way in a thread. For instance if I start a thread on EVs it is likely to get heated pretty quickly and at some point might get to where it would be considered political. It also might get locked because it just got too heated. Those points would be different for each individual. Thanks.

Everyone that has a problem with moderation and/or suggestions should use the contact button at the top and at the bottom of every forum page to do so.

It can be hard not to fire off a comment that might cross the line, especially if it’s a subject that affects one personally. Have found I need to pause and think about it. Then might well not comment at all. Given the purpose of this site, it works for me.

I don’t think I agree with this suggestion. As mentioned above there are a lot of ways things can go in discussions here. As also mentioned above when things get “heated” things may come out that would not normally. I see no reason why it should be suggested that it would be wrong or embarrassing to later recant a statement.
Edit to add: I suspect olddavid meant to place this in the Tractor Tales forum, it seem to relate to this thread. “More entertaining..or less?

You can easily find where your posts have been made. Use the search feature (spy glass) in the upper right, type you user name in the “Member” box and hit Search. This will bring up a listing of your entire posting history in chronological order. Also if you are in a thread that you have posted in hover your mouse over or click your username. The word Messages will appear at the left with a number below it, clicking that number will do the same thing. The title of each thread in the list of your posts is a link to the post.

And another way is to go to top left of any page and click on "Find Threads"
After that you can click on "Your Threads" or "Threads with Your post" in the upper left of the next page.

I find it also true that what is written, what is meant, and what is read may not match and then all bets are off.

Let me be clear for the last time. IT IS NOT SUBJECTIVE.

This OT forum seems to be THE ONLY problem on this site. I do appreciate feedback, but moderation is not an open discussion. The rules are posted in bright red on every page. Follow them, or get temporarily banned and then permanently removed. End of discussion.
