Will i still have a postive ground when useing a alternator on a 1957 super 55?

Doubtful. There aren't many alternators that use positive ground.

If you have a reputable electric rebuilder in town , he can build a pos ground alternator out of a Delco one wire alternator...I've also had 6 volt and 8 volt alternators built..Pos or neg ground.....Buckeye Auto Electric...Painesville , Ohio
