Hello I am a complete noob to the tractor world but have found this site extremely helpful. I have a pdf manual of the tractor so I am sure I will have many more questions. But if someone could tell me what the linkage circled in red is? It looks like there is supposed to be a bolt going thru it. And then what is the lever circled in green? Appreciate your input!

Someone else will probably explain it better than me but as a start the green is to switch between manual and automatic draft control on the 3-point hitch. And the red is for adjusting the amount of draft sensing feedback. That adjustment rod should be bolted like you thought.

I was able to change the oil and the oil filter today. I drained the gear oil out of the bottom three plugs, it was caramel colored. To refill I put the new gear oil in the red circled cap correct?
Question two how do I drain the yellow circled cap? It did not drain out with the 3 bottom plugs which led me to believe its the hydraulic fluid ?
I appreciate your input!

80w90 in the red plug. The check plug (where you check fluid level) should be on the back next to the pto. Yellow is hyd. Use universal tractor hydraulic fluid. Pics are from my service manual. I’d put a new shifter boot on to help keep water out of the transmission. Get it from Korves Oliver Parts.

Ok that maes sense. The guy I bought it off of had no idea what it was. Now to find the right bolt to fit it
My parts book says it’s a 3/8-16 x 1 7/16 with a star washer. The picture looks like it has a shoulder that fits in the adjuster. Maybe you could find something on McMaster Carr. They are usually called shoulder bolts

Okay doing some research and I was thinking of flushing the gears before I put the new gear oil in. There seems to be mixed reviews on using kerosene as too harsh and possibly causing seals to leak. Is it prefered to use diesel? Or should I just refill with oil and change sooner?

So I had a little bit of time to work on changing fluids on the oliver today and while I was reinstalling the hydraulic filter, I snapped the hollow bolt in half. Anyone know the part number or where I could find another?

Part # 1KA-5363-A. eBay has the whole canister and bolt for $40. Search "1949 Oliver 88 Tractor Hydraulic Oil Filter Canister" The 88 uses the same one because the part # prefix of K means that it was originally made for the 88. Maibach would have one too.

Hello butcher44, welcome to YT!
I have a pdf manual of the tractor so I am sure I will have many more questions.
I can appreciate being outside working on the machine and not wanting to open the PDF, but fairly certain a question like identifying the Hydraulic oil reservoir cap would be in there. Or does your PDF copy have the over black photos from a poor scan?
Here is a link to the AGCO online parts catalog for that tractor. AGCO Super 55 parts catalog
Enjoy your tractor!
