Super a wont start

Just got done painting a super a and I'm trying to get it to start up and it ran like a clock before it tore it down to paint. So I'm definitely getting
spark to all the plugs, new tune up kit, new plugs, new ignition switch. And I'm getting gas because you can smell it and see it on the plugs
when you take them out but it will just not start. When your trying to crank it over its very slow (6 volt) wasn't like that before. I had heard that
the end of the starter is supposed to be clean and mine has paint on it so I think that might be a problem? And it did pop twice like it was going
to start but that's all it's done. I'm about to give up lol

You are not getting enough voltage to the starter (or ignition if battery ignition). Paint on the starter mounting surface (on the housing and on the starter) will cause all or part of it. The cables on a 6v system must be 0gauge wire (about as fat (copper, not insulation) as a first grade pencil)6volt systems carry 2 times the amps that 12v carries. The battery should be 650 CCA. the wet plugs define the issue. Dry them with a propane torch to assure they are ready to fire. Jim

if it ran good before and all that you did was paint; it should be running good still.
did you remove the wires and distributor cap: before you painted?

But is that spark hot enough?? You need a blue/white spark that jumps a 1/4 inch gap or more. Wet plugs mean there gas fouled and need to be cleaned.

It was a nice blue spark it jump a good distance and I took all the plugs out and cleaned them put them back in and it seemed to help that's when it popped like it was going to start

Started before paint so just clean ALL electric connections.

Check your plug wires to see if they're in the right firing order. No 1 is near the fan. Hal
Bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke and see where your rotor is pointing. Should be at the No1 plug wire.

It was a nice blue spark it jump a good distance and I took all the plugs out and cleaned them put them back in and it seemed to help that's when it popped like it was going to start
