Super C Exhaust Pipe

I am trying to determine the correct length of the exhaust pipe for a Super C. Some vendors say 6-8 inches. I know it does not matter exactly. I am trying to splice the one welded to the manifold with a coupling. I would like the muffler to be the correct height above the hood. Thanks

I have a 53 Super C. I just put a brand new Stanley on It last year. From the top of the hood to the bottom of the large diameter of the muffler it is 4 1/2". From the top of the hood to the top of the muffler, it is 24".

Does matter on mine. To short and the clamp doesn’t clear around the hood.
To long and it won’t go into the shed with bending the muffler over.

When I first got my tractor, it would not clear my garage door either. I simply cut the top pipe off so that it would clear. I left about an inch on the pipe so I could keep the flapper valve on. You just have to remember to go out the door at a very slow idle so the flapper is not sticking straight up.
