Super C head

I have a two part question: Is a 251172-R1 casting code head the correct head for a Farmall Super C or is it off something else? Does anyone have an opinion on how much can be safely milled off this head? Thanks in advance. --Rob

Yes it is the correct head !
.060 to .080 max depending on if it has been resurfaced before!
6v or rewired to 12v because too much off the head on 6v may be tough to start!

Cliff,

Yes it's going to be a puller. Been sitting about 10 years in barn. Is converted to 12v. Has 3.125 stepped head pistons. What can I expect? Thanks

Not enough!
3.125 pistons maby 27/28 HP

You need to update to a 3.25 tisco pop up piston and with some good port work and carb work you should be in the 35 HP range!

I have two of these 3.25 piston (133cid) with a better head and other good parts making 45 HP and I am sure I may be able to get more with a couple of changes on another build!
