Super C Tires

I am in desperate need for new tires on my 53 Super C. external_link says i need 5.00-15 fronts and 10-36 rears. From the looks of it my current fronts i think are 6.5-16 (but they look like old car tires) and I am unsure about the rears. Can anyone tell me what you have done for tires in the past? Should i go with original sizes or should i replace with current sizes? I am thinking about just going to the local tire professionals and having them replace them but i would like to shop around for the best price if i can.

5.00x15 is your size look up www.tuckertires.com they have good prices delivered to your door. 11.2x36 is for the rears

Yup he has the sizes correct...have you ever mounted your own tires? We got a set of Titan from Junior Tucker Tires...one developed cracking in the side wall within 3 yrs bad and finall had the side wall give out within 4...have never used Titans or Tuker since.

Hi ..

I'm having the same issue with my 51 Super C. It followed me home today and while I knew the tires were on their last legs was really surprised that one pretty much gave up the ghost just riding the trailer down I-75.

11.2x36 is current version of the old numbering 10-36 (see the M.E.Miller website for the conversion chart).

I'm seeing very few 11.2' -36s though, easier to find 12.4-36s (And seems to be what Tucker is pushing on their e-bay store as a C/Super C tire).

One size up shouldn't be outlandish ... anyone got pictures of their C/SC with 12.4s instead of 11.2s?

11.2-36 on the rear and 5.00 15"s on the front. You"ll be sorry if you put bigger tires on it. Many tools, especiall cultivators, will rub the tires if there too big. Also the gearing/speed will be off for doing some kinds of work. I like Firestorne tires, they look and work good and are worth the extra money to me. Having said that I had a VERY hard time finding the 5.00-15"s for the front of my C last fall so good luck.
If your going to be entering in tractor pulls then forget what I"ve said.

Firestone still makes 11.2-36. I would not put 12.4's on, that is overkill, and will increase your ground speed, meaning less pulling power. Your tractor likely has 10 inch rims, 12.4's will fit ok on those. It could also have 9 inch rims, which will accept 11.2's, but I would prefer 10 inch rims for those. 4 ply is good enough for a C.

I typed when you were posting, we said the same thing. I would think a Firestone dealer could get 5-15's but I haven't bought that size in several years.

I have 12.4x36 on my SC and they work fine for everything I do but I don,t do any cultivating, years ago we ran 12.4 on our 200 and they didn't interfere with anything (mowing, plowing, discing, etc.).

I believe I have a picture of 12.4s on a Super C on my other computer, I'll look when I get home. Doesn't look bad, but looks a little goofy to me. I have 5.00 fronts and rear 11.2's on my C and Super C and love the way they fit and look.

Firestones are the champagne & caviar of tire brands. You'll be looking for a less expensive alternative when you find out the price.

The "off" brands tend to run a little small in my experience, so a 12.4x36 will be somewhere between an 11.2 and 12.4 in a good brand of tire.

For trailer queening, parades, occasional work, one size too big is perfectly fine.
