Super H belly pump issues

Im am trying to take of the dog on the belly pump that runs the belly pump from the insertable shaft that goes from the dog to the transmission. The IT manual says put a piece down into the assembly to keep the gears from turning and take a punch and turn the dog off counter-clockwise. That didnt work so I rigged something up for my air impact and that didnt work either. Any ideas for how to do this. I have to replace the oil seal since it is starting to leak. Thanks for the help

They are on tight, The plcement of a brass or aluminum stock in the gears locks them to prevent turning. It usually works well. The housing needs to be held to allow enough force to be applied. situating all parts so that force can be used is important. That is about all there is to it. JimN

Hi Andrew, It,s me...How ya doin"? You really have to partially disassemble the pump for minimal frustration. Take out all the bolts holding the pump assebly to the case and remove. Then look for the square oil pick-up tube that points downward. Clean the end of a prybar and insert it up the pick-up tube so it engages the pump gears,and rotate "the dog" till it stops. Then use a pipe wrench or whatever you have to remove "the dog" It is kinda clumsy...but it works. You will need a gasket for reassembly...Good Luck...Randy

One of the books I have says to insert a piece of 1/8" flat stock in between the gears to prevent them from turning. Brass stock sounds good, but it didn't say it was necessary.

Then, are you turning it in the right direction.
The book tells which way to turn it. I am not where I can get to the book right now.
