My neighbor is trying to sell me a super m.It has been sitting for 15 years inside. He thought it was a battery under the seat.It is complete,Iam sure the tires are bad,and the motor is stuck. What is something like that worth, The way it sits.Iam not going to fix it up.

I don't understand why your going to buy it at all, if your not going to fix it.
Its really hard to value it without know more details. It can range from $500 to $5000.

If it sat inside for 15 years why would the motor be stuck?

Why do you want the tractor if you aren't going to fix it?

So you buy it and take it home. Soon your mind says, I wonder If I could make that tractor run. Down the road after you install the piston and liner kit and new bearings, points, condensor and clean the carb it runs like a champ. Now if you have a good running tractor you will want to drive it around a bit. You find some tires, pretty cheap, and it drives really good but it is kinda rusty and who wants to drive a rusty tractor around the neighborhood, a coat of paint won't cost mush but why paint it until a few cosmetic things are fixed.Soon after many $ it runs good and looks good. But (and there is always the but) now you don't have a project to work on iwth all those tools and books you bought, so another neighbor(maybe in another state) has the M that has set in a shed for years, with bad tires and a stuck motor...

Well, a lot of variables left unsaid. If its pretty complete and straight, I would say 500 to 700. If all beat up, rims rusted out, and engine really is locked up tight, probly less. Best thing to happen is, someone who knows tractors to buy it. Don't want to be a middle man on something like that. Buyer better be interested in fixing it up, or parting it out them self.

(quoted from post at 13:37:40 09/09/16) Frozen engine and bad tires I would say the low end should be more like $200.

Wow I wish I could find a parts SM for that cost.
At least around here, I've seen barn parked Super M's with a stuck motor, but looking good otherwise, selling for $3000. Motor was supposedly stuck simply from sitting. But this one had nice rubber on it and good paint.
But for $200, I would think money can easily be made by parting it out.

Where are you located? Junk machinery shouldn't be that hard to find. The cheapest M I found on Craigs list locally was $750, with a good running engine but poor tires. No one even advertises a nonrunning M.

I'm from CT. I see non running farmalls all the time on craigslist.
Most of the time a non running H or M is in the ball park of $700 around here.

In my mind, if it is straight and complete and the rims are okay you would be looking at about $300 to $500. This would be as a parts tractor. Unless someone has a good set of rubber sitting around they can throw on it the cost to get the tractor operational will exceed what you can buy a good running Super M with decent tires for. You are looking at $1000 to $1200 for rubber all the way around and you can add another $400 to $500 if you need rims. If you paid $500 for the tractor you are already close to $2000 and you don't even have it running yet. There was a time when I was a big fan of rescuing these types of tractors and bringing them back to life. It just costs too much money. You can never come close to getting your money back out of it. Now if someone is just looking for a winter project and doesn't care about money this tractor would probably fill the bill just fine.
