Super W6-TA

A friend has a super W6 TA he would like to sell, it runs good and everything works, it does need paint, there is a parts tractor to go with it, just wondering what it would be worth, Any ball park ideas? Just how rare are these?

Super W 6 numbers are far less than those for the Super M and Super M TA in terms of number built but the collectors do not flock to the standard tractor like they do to the row crops. The early standard tractors were not as ergonomic as the row crop and that hurts, also. In my opinion it would be worth picking up and perhaps 2,000 dollars for the pair might be a fair price but I don't see the ongoing market unlike the row crops so I could be off in my estimate.

I agree with NY 986 If the tires are really good, I would say 2500 if average but usable, 2000, of they must be changed, 1500 Jim

At $1500 it will sell so fast you'll be scratching your head wondering if you shouldn't have asked for more. Even at $2000.

No offense to these guys, but keep in mind that the prices they are giving you are what THEY ARE WILLING TO PAY, not what the market value of the tractor is. The prices they give are to THEIR advantage, not yours.

You can always start high and work down from there. I have seen clapped-out but running Super MTAs bring $5000+ in the past at auctions, but recently I saw one bring $2200 but it was in pretty sorry shape and wasn't running.

Yes, he can ask considerably more than I mentioned but the W series tractor TA or not does not have the appeal of a Super M or Super M TA. He might be waiting a while to get 3,000 dollars or more unless that one guy just happens to come along right after the ad goes out. I'd rather be the guy selling an average 706 and 234 corn picker at 8,000 or 9,000 dollars for the pair as the "got to have it now" crowd is larger for them.

Of course the ad is still there, so it hasn't sold at that price yet. Judge your friends tractor compared to this one. You can always set your price high, though you might scare some real buyers away if you're too high.

I bought a nice sw6ta gas a few years ago i paid 2800. It had pretty good tires and very nice sheet metal running. It was definitely in better shape than the one on the link below. I have a sw6ta in excellent shape all new tires for sale on this site and only moderate intrest in it. Lots of tire kickers.standard tractors to me are way nicer to look at. Way less built and fewer at the shows to look at compared to h and m. Big round fenders and wide tires thats what i like.only my opinion. Price on a tractor depends how bad u want to get rid of it. No big money. makers. Its all about connections and memories.

Kind of what I was thinking. If the parts tractor has a bad engine with few good parts then it is worth very minimal value. Things such as wheels, steering, sheet metal, etc. will not work on a Super M which limits the market for parts. I wonder if a yard would even give 300 dollars for it if the engine looks like a loss.

Now I am thinking a fair amount of sheet metal would cross fit. Anybody know for sure?

Nothing as far as sheetmetal from a w6 will fit on a m. Fuel tank most likely the same. Grill hood fenders all 4 wheels are all different.
Radiator doesnt have the hole for steering rod. Hydraulic pump is the same as m but valve and reservoir are different.
