supercharging an 8N?

Pretty old post. You want more power stick a 172/192 in your 8n. It’s easy enough
see that's what Im saying Kirk, a V8 swap is easier even something like a v6 is easy enough. maybe one could even put a Cummins or a powerstroke on there. could even make a little extra cash selling the inline 4 to somebody in need of one.

I mean my original post reviving the thread was asking about the much lower pressure smog pump theory and seeing if anyone had anything helpful to add for figuring the pulley size.

I think I got one answer that specifically addressed the question. So I appreciate that. Everyone else’s words of caution have been heard.

But I won’t be talked out of installing a VW meep meep horn in it. For no better reason than I have one and think it’d be funny.

So keep your words of caution to yourself Sagacious Unc!

Me when I hook up a vacuum advance for better fuel economy at idle.
Been around some flathead builders that get past the breathing problem their V8s have with super charging which is what you are doing. I think even a little help around the corner and through the intake port will help some. Looks like about two or three of us understood the scope of impact a smog pump would actually have on a running engine. Once you got the carburetor happy you would notice the difference but probably 50 hp shy of blowing the engine.
